The Baric tablets help the user to explore differences in weight.
This simple exercise allows the user to differentiate three weights by placing a different wooden tablet in each hand so as to feel the difference between them and then sort the three sets of tablets by weight from lightest to heaviest. Once the first three tablets have been identified the user can then sort the remaining tablets by feeling the weight of each and placing it on top of the tablet that has the corresponding weight.
This set can be used with a carer supporting the user when needed or it can also be used individually or with another person to encourage social interaction.
Careful and mindful observation of the user while working with this material will help to identify any cognitive or sensorial changes taking place.
