The concrete materials of the Golden Beads, introduces the concept of place value. Once the Child masters numbers 0 to 10, the Golden Bead Material Activity Set will provide additional exercises for the Child to work with numbers, building in complexity to introduce the place value work.
Features of the Golden Bead Material Activity Set:
The direct objectives of this activity, for the Child, are to practice:
- Working with the place value of numbers.
- Linking the quantities and symbols of the hierarchy materials.
- With all the operations, both static and dynamic.
Indirectly, the Child:
- Understands the concept of base 10 work.
- Learns to love mathematics.
- Challenges the Child to think for themselves
- Improves their self-confidence, focus and concentration.
The golden bead material act as the control of error.
This material is aimed at the 4 to 6 year old.
It is used through the lower elementary environment.
This activity forms part of the Montessori mathematics curriculum.
Contents of the Golden Bead Material Activity Set:
- 6 sets of header cards with a question on the front and the answer on the back.
- A total of 48 activities.
- The cards are self-checking, with the correct answer displayed, in a pictorial format, on the back of the card.
- Children can work independently.
- Stored in an acrylic stand, to display the cards on the shelves.
